Avoiding idle time, tending the lady in waiting...

So I've teased this out before, and recently I approached my boss with the idea that, if I had any spare time at work, I would start the task of bringing this old gal back to the road...

She's a 93/K Bx 19TGD, it hasn't seen the road since it was 18 months old, it was involved in a very heavy frontal impact which necessitated the shell being replaced, a good amount of the work was completed, however the engine wouldn't run correctly, and so the rebuild stalled, time passed and suddenly it wasn't a nearly new car anymore, it became a dust trap, a shelf, forgotten.

Well I have started clearing the area around it, and removing some of the 21 years worth of dust...

Here it is with a little less clutter around the front end;

The engine is the 1.9 Xud N/a but I am looking for an injection pump and mounting plate as a start towards getting it to run correctly...

Just 23,000 miles have been covered behind this wheel...

And there is a raft of unfitted parts in here too;

Other parts I will need are a green tinted windscreen, a set of tyres and a front bumper in the correct shade of Triton Green (there is a brand new one in the car, but cost is always a factor in these things)

Once upon a time, yes.

I know of a place with many rough bxs, so I may have to find a doner car...

I made a double take there! As it is I think you are saving the spirit of my only BX, not the actual one - a K reg dark blue 1.9 TXD that I had to give up when I changed jobs. It went to an ex-colleague who piled it up spectacularly within weeks, the Twat.

Good luck with a most worthy project. I will follow with interest!

Had a BX 19 gti from brand new as a company car G472 XLR - was allowed options so chose factory aircon. I left so dunno who got it next. Much later I bought a gti 4x4, which I thought would be the pinacle of bx-ness. It wasn't.

Don't have any parts or contacts but wish you well as I have fond memories of at least one bx.
