Back from Poland, here's my Spottage (Polonez content)

Hi all,

My other half treated me to a week long break to Krakow for my birthday.  Amazing place, incredibly cheap and barely a white Audi A4 in sight.

They're very into their French stuff...... Our cab from the airport was an Espace with 274k KM on the clock, yet it felt like brand new and not a single warning message!!

The Laguna II must've been one of their best selling cars, they're flipping everywhere!  Much less pretentious (and less wealthy) nation than us, so the average age of cars is deliciously older.  They love LPG.  You see a battered old Laguna estate full of shite and it's guaranteed to have the LPG filler of shame.

I was very pleased to see a Safrane on our first night.  Yet I didn't see a Vel Satis the entire trip.

That evening also presented the first American lump - American stuff also seems to be another soft spot of theirs, as you'll see later.  First came the Chevy Venture.

IMG_2422.jpg

And a 100NX.  Haven't seen one of these in ages.

IMG_2423.jpg

Lancias are a daily occurrence.  Daewoo Esperos and Fiat Unos are like seeing a Qashqai or Juke here - and it's really given me a taste for the former!!

Would it be Eastern Europe without a Clio with a boot?  The Thalia is everywhere.  Hideous.

This lot were all sat together.  I miss my Leganza.

The strange Fiats out in force.  Also a lot of 126s and Cinquecentos.

Look at this for a duo!  Bloody ShittyRover estate

IMG_2462.jpg

This absolutely made my day....

Europe's special - The Mégane Break.  Genuinely think this would've done well with us.

IMG_2470.jpg

This was mega.

IMG_2472.jpg

IMG_2473.jpg

One for the Renault geeks.  Mégane II in a base spec but with Xenon headlights.  Not something you see over here.

IMG_2503.jpg

And here it is, the holy grail of Eastern Europe!!!

This was badged a Millennia 5 - looked real nice.

Xedos around the corner.  I loved mine.

Escort!

IMG_2516.jpg

Then the Alfas appeared....

These vile things were buzzing around a good bit.  The Daewoo Tico

IMG_2531.jpg

A home-made Golf Harlequin and a Skoda with a great number plate

IMG_2556.jpg

Two big graceful lumps flying the flag for France and Sweden.

And here's two American specials.  The Chrysler Stratus and Pacifica.

So yes, an amazing place for the shiter.  I would highly recommend a trip to anyone.  Besides the cars, cheap booze, amazing bakeries and lovely people, I need to mention what a somber and enlightening place Auschwitz is - nothing gets closer to portraying, in a scarily close feeling, what disastrous history this country has been through.

Luke.

Totally explains why Poland is the 2nd in download count (Russia is 1st) for my app!

I have been told that if you ever get a LPG conversion done, make sure its done by a Polish person - as they are by far experts in conversions.

Surprised that a Trabi wasn't seen spotted buzzing about.
