anyway,i know naff all about them.so anyone help?

nothing happens when I press the buttons,no bleeps or anything, fuses checked, disconected battery for an hour,no joy there, just wondered if theres any tricks anybody knows of,also anyone know where the roof ecu is.

Get it on diagnostics first before going into ECU's and looms, Vauxhalls can be pretty helpful when they go wrong...which is handy. It'll save you a lot of stress if there is a fault code logged.

I agree with Mr. Cade, and this is old-school type troubleshooting, but it might get you started:

Disconnect the roof motor, put a VOM across the connector and push the buttons. If you have voltage, the motor could be faulty. Put the meter probes across the motor terminals, set it to the ohms scale, and you should have <50 ohms resistance. If you see "OL" or no change, the motor is faulty.

Or remove the buttons, and put your meter across the terminals set to the ohms scale. If pushing buttons gives no result, the buttons are no good.

Regardless, fill it with nuns and kittens and set fire to it.

BCUZ ALL VOXLZ R SHIT YO.

No really, that looks pretty cool. Hope you can fix it...

Is there an owners club or forum for these?

A lot of cabrios have a cryptic reset procedure that involves jumping through various hoops in the right order to reinitialise the system and re-set the sensors. The owners forum guys will know.

Also, some of these tintop floppytops have some kind of retractable cover inside the boot that needs to be in place before the roof will work to prevent it mashing your shopping.

Op-com is the after market scantool that can be had cheaply as a knock off. This will be able to see if any codes are hiding and possibly manually actuate parts.

As these electrically driven or hydraulic?

The boot will only work is the roof is fully down/up and the roof will only operate with the boot fully closed. So it maybe one fault preventing the entire operation. You can read fault codes on the dash by planting the brake and accelerator and switching on the ignition to point 2. Then counting engine management flashes and googling the outcome which is a bit of a pita method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoWW3qH5yKs . I'm not sure a faulty roof would show up though, and even if did TBH it may not be specific enough to help.

cheers for everyones input so far,ive been on many forums and it seems it could be anything, because everything that's fitted is shite!!

my code reader showed no faults (cheapo £70 europarts shite one),but im going to look at these op-com doodahs,I think im gonna start on it on the next nice day we have, manually get boot open then just go through all the motors and hydraulics, testing as I go,i only bought it to see if I could fix it,ive done Peugeot and merc roofs, with success, but these tigras are known for it,i will let you know how I get on.

I will try the pedal test as ive not done that yet, interestingly, the boot isn't properly locked down at base of o/s/r screen and I can pull roof back so far when its unlatched.

seems like it failed mid operation and was manually closed.see how I get on in the week.cheers for the link alex.

Are these fitted with shite microswitch operated boot handles? Could be as simple as something like that.

got boot open today, and found this in the boot. the little round date stamp that you find on car trim/behind ashtrays/glovebox melted in suggests its newer than the car so as theres still one fitted,im assuming somebodys already had a go.i noticed the hydraulic rams were also sloppy in their movement up and down, like no oil and full of air,so I need to find out the correct oil for the pump.

i now have opcom and its thrown up a fault on one of the latch motor thingys,so off to ebay on that one.

now is anyone on here employed by a Vauxhall main dealer? I need the car pass code in the event I need to reprogramme once ive fitted said unit and would rather pay a teccy than Vauxhall for this four digit code.i believe its obtainable from the vin.

anyone help?.

Can the opcom retrieve it? I know it can on certain models. Not in all modules, but some like the dashboard or body control module.

the opcom cant retrieve it as far as im aware,i will have another go though,i saw a youtube clip of a different scanner reading it,but they were in Manchester anyway, its not a problem for me,just didn't want to pay a main stealer if I could get it elsewhere.
