That Mk3 'Tina was probably the last genuinely Sexy looking car Ford UK made. Shame the workmanship was so shoddy!

I believe the trend started across the pond in the 60's.

Its an Imperial. Elwood Engel (great name) did the Lincoln Continental, then left Ford for Chrysler...and did the Imperial, so the similarity is no coincidence.

 

Looking above its nice to be reminded what a smart looking car the FD Victor/Ventora was

Though IIRC both designed by the same person (David Bache) so maybe not so surprising.

I never noticed till now, but lights, indicators, sewage lines arch lips, there's resemblance everywhere.
