Courtesy of Ludeboy off Retro Rides comes this rather nice F-reg Honda Accord.

It's the absolute top of the range for its time - apparently it was a special edition brought in to celebrate Honda's return to F1. As such it as electric windows all round, electric sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, headlight wipers etc. etc. etc., and being a Honda it all works. It also has uprated suspension and a 150bhp version of the B20A engine, so it goes like poo off a spade. And it has the wonderful speed-sensitive PAS, which I've not been convinced by on previous Accords I've driven but is perfect on this one - steering is Fiat city-button light at parking speeds but weights up nicely once you get going, and the car handles very nicely indeed for what it is. One of the things I like best about it (and my main reason for buying it) is that it looks like a normal giffer-spec Accord, as seen holding up traffic on a B road near you, and yet it will give most hot hatches a very good run for their money. It's out of test at the mo, but can't see it needing a great deal - back arches are a bit scabby but nothing terminal (and there's two new arches in the boot anyway), and I think it might need a pair of front discs as it judders a bit when braking from high speed, but other than that it should be easy enough to get back on the road in time for some comfortable air-conditioned Saxo-baiting come the summer.

Aha, I recognise that - used to belong to Stuyizz I believe.Nice one, I imagine dynamically they're quite a way ahead of the 2nd generation Accords I had.

Hey i'm well glad to see that you've got 'on' that, Ludeboy was on about nicking its engine which would have been a shame as thats a very rare and no doubt great fun machine.

Aye, he wanted to put the engine in his Prelude, which is not nearly as nice or as interesting as the Accord from my point of view, so I'm glad that idea got dropped. He's got a Mk1 MR2 as well which he's doing up - he's informed me that a 3-litre V6 Camry engine is more or less a bolt in swap on an MR2, which has got me thinking...

I also seem to have purchased this.

It was at one stage a cheap Chinese 125cc scooter, but after various bits broke and seized up it got modified into what you see above - still road legal (at least till it needs an MoT in two years' time...) and should be an amusing way of getting to work come springtime.

Top quality! Sounds like a quality motor, I'm fairly sure it was Stuyizz-owned previously like SL says.Would you like to lend my tin of wheel silver?

That's superb. There's a 1988 Accord listed in the Scot Ads as a 16v, is it likely to be the same model? I think the lesser models were 12v.
