Made it there and collected ... then my phone had a ftp... then the car drove loveley on motorway at speed but the missfire got worse at low speed / under load had it on the laptop and found needs 3 of the 6 coil packs ...

Drained plenums as were full then got called to a mates hyuandai getz which had ftpd so just walked in since leaving for work at 6 this morning!!

 

Time to order service kit and coil packs then make my mind up wethere to delete the backbox for more fun!

 

Oh and found boot carpet is a sponge full of stagnant water so better order some rear lamp seals.

 

Oh and heater only blows cold .... but engine temp on guage and diag showing normal

Only managed a shit spot before battery died and were travelling a bit too quick on our privately owned road to get a decent pic...

Let me tell you the temperature gauge on a 75 is about as much use as a choccy teapot, take no notice.

 

You need to use the onboard trip to get the actual coolant temp. The needle sits halfway when the car is between 70*c and 120*c so it could be far too cool or too hot but the needle tells you everything is ok Guv, when it aint.

 

My stat was stuck open on my 2.5V6 and the car was running in the low to mid 70s (temp, not speed) at motorway speeds, but the needle remained in the middle.

 

So do this with the engine running......

 

• Hold in the trip reset button until the small display goes blank with some dashes and a '0'
• then press the button in 19 times until you get to number '19'
• then the screen with flash 'On' or 'Off' every few seconds....
• While it shows the word 'Off' press the button in once
• Then press the button in 7 times until you get to number '7'
• Hey Presto your coolant temperature will display like this
