Billy said he'd settle up for the Sctch Body tax;)

Getting bored, want something dramatic to happen, pez shot, food shot, anythink ?

apologies for the delay!Hopefully it was worth the wait..

You fucking shithouse. Not only do you not buy my car, but you buy the car I wanted to replace it with.

IT'S AN OUTRAGE. I SHALL BE INFORMING THE DAILY MAIL IMMEDIATELY.

Seriously, though, top bombing. Luckily* I've got another on my watchlist.

Haha:) Thats why I mentioned that Billy was talking to me re 306s! glad no hard feelings-look forward to your collection thread!

Nice work, these are a much nicer drive than the VAG shit you got used to. Are you going to treat the Lucas to a blend of fossil fuel and veg?

I'll likely give it a service and see where we are first!

It feels so much tighter and omfortable than the Octavia - well pleased:)

/\ /\ What's the savings with veg rather than derv nowadays? Is it not worth the faff anymore?

Nice purchase btw, like the colour.

I buy decent wvo for 35p/l and filter it in a setup that cost a total of £15:)

its about 75p/litre cheaper, and even at a 50/50 that makes a tank (55l) £32 instead of £60 ish based on derv being £1.059/ L

doesnt take long to pay back!

Is that not the Lucas pumped one?

If so hence the fossil ... Surprising change for someone used to a VAG wagon.

I give it a whole month before something breaks or otherwise shits the bed lol

We'll see- it feels like the best car I've bought in a fair while- suspension/brakes all good so far, interior nice, engine running well..

Of course there's no hard feelings! If the one I'm watching stays cheap, I'll have a punt, otherwise I'll just stick with the French Rocket, as it has now been named, until MOT time. Unless a raffle number comes up of course!

If you're going to run veg in it i would suggest no more than 70/30 mix (30 being veg), lest the pump shats it's seals ... Lucas pumps really don't like it in my experience! Totally fucked the Lucas pump on the Astra by the time i got rid of it :D that could have been down to other factors though, turps and citronella oil mixed with 2 stroke and veg seems to make good fuel though hahaha

The Polo I had was ok on 50'50, but I may just try to source a bosch pump and lines for it

What Astra has a Lucas pump? 1.7D?

I think a Lucas pump will run high % of oil in summer quite happily.

I'll make an actual thread for this wee bugger - we can have "Pump talk" (ahem!) there:)

Don't those wheezy Slow Blow ones have Lucas pumps? I've had a couple (years back) but couldn't sell them quick enough to discover what pumps they had.

Not sure.. the 'slow-blow' ones I've had have been Bosch, as were the 1600/ 1700 n/a's..
