oh good,

i'd hate to see yet another rover 75 meet an early and undignified end.

i cannot wait to see it back on the road.

The plan is to go through this gearbox with a fine tooth comb to see if anything can be fixed. If not the box will be replaced and be used as a Daily driver. Its a 2.0 diesel auto connoisseur se and its lovely.

Lovely looking car. Mine was exactly the same colour.

A moonstone green tourer with diesel engine and auto.

On a run expect about 36-40mpg at most.

These early ones didn't have fog lights as the cooler is to big.

I had mine running alongside my 2.5v6 launch car and I'm afraid to say the diesel was left at home 9 times out of 10.

I just prefer a petrol v engine

Check the solo nods in the gearbox. If it's any of them it will be an easy fix.

Please keep us updated

Will certainly keep you updated

Thanks if you need any tips let me know ive owned 5 75s but only 1 diesel tourer auto.

its odd that this Rover doesn't have the fog lamps in the front, mine been a club SE has them and is also on a 51 plate (registered i think in October 2001)  i wonder then Rover changed the inter-cooler?

make sure you save the tailgatge and glass if it ultimately gets fragged .. I'm told by good source the rear glass for tourer 75/Zt is no longer available :/

By all means save stuff, but I don't think it'll have much future value, even if it's NLA. There are shit-loads on used ones on Ebay. (Take all those DAF 66 "RARE" parts advertised on ebay. The parts may be rare, but they are worth fuck-all if the cars are even rarer.)

Anyway, glass is a cock to store.

Thanks colc for the nice car and you bub for the entertainment on route

Yes dad, I just put a post in the new members post

Apparently, it's not the solenoids [oh that it were!] Local garage had a poke for me, and apparently someone has used the wrong transmission fluid, and wrecked the box.

Ref fog lights.................my Club 75 also has them.........

Posted

The fog light issue is because it's an early car. The later diesels had a different cooler.

If you look at the fog blank it will have vents in if I remember correctly.

Thanks for input. I think Dave plans on putting it on the computer to see if anything comes up and see what's what.
