As the Midlands Massive are having a trip to Cannock Auctions (Home of the DETHBURGAH) tomorrow 5/1/15, and I'm too skint to go, anybody fancy the Enfield BCA sale instead? 620-640 Great cambridge Road, Enfield EN1 3RL

Start time 9.30am, so I'll be leaving sunny* Grays 8.15-8.30, quick blat round the M25, should be there in time.

I don't really want to be a billy-no-mates..... Parky? PBK? Anybody?

You'll get to spend a couple of hours with my handsome* self, what moar could you want?

Posted

Yeah, up for that :)

I haven't been for ages either.

Last time I went to Enfield BCA I bought an Espace- needless to say I will never darken its doors again!

If I go to bid on anything at BCA I hereby give you permission to kick me in the knackers until I desist bidding or lose consciousness, whichever happens soonest..

At Cannock, the OGA* would probably take a boot in the nads as a bid.

* "old geezer auctioneer", works the block on Saturdays, can't tell a Kak from a Pisshat.  Hilarious old boy.

Well we attended, we walked up and down the lanes, we saw fucking warehouses full of Fiat 500's go through the auction.

We saw pretty girls fight and roar over cars. We saw several very AS worthy cars go through and we.....................................

Will tell you the rest later. ;)

Come on man - I'm in suspenders....

Right, it appears either my memory card is fooked, or it's the reader.

Still, Mr PBK took some pics, I'm sure he'll be along soon......

The first (AS) desirable lot we saw, was actually lot number one. A trophy Blue MG ZT 1.8 pez - possibly the 120? It had rear arches AND MoT, and aside from a bizarrley rusty bonnet, looked ok - certainly better than the pre-vulgaloured FATHARRIS model. Myself and Ken had our very first "sitting on hands" moment with this - the hammer fell @ £175.  OK, it was declared a "provisional" bid, but it didn't come back through, so that was the last we saw of that.

I've made some very brief notes on most of the rest of the stuff we saw go through - Fiat 500's were in abundance, and prices from just under three bags to just under four meant they appear to be depreciating more heavily than it appears on forecourt prices.

I'll deal with the mundane modern dross:

Focus TDCi estate 06 plate with 138k on, went for £650, an 06 Meriva pez for £575.

The first real WTF moment cam with a "Fatarse" Megane on an 06 plate with 70odd thousand miles on, being quickly bid up from it's £400 start to a salty £1050. It wasn't that nice - it needed a proper clean, the wheels had scuffage - it just looked a bit, well, unloved I suppose.

MOAR AS Approved stuff next in, a 2005 54 plate Rover Streetwise with 59k, looking very pretty in a dark metallic red. What do we reckon? £450? BARG.

Dang, annoyed I missed this. Count me in for next time.

I'll do a basic list of tedious stuff....if there's a P after the price this means Provisional....

04 Corolla 113k miles, £500P; 52 Zafira £450P; 04 Focus 1.6LX £595; 05 Galaxy 155k £700; 61 Volvo V50 £7600, 55 Micra 62k £950; 08 Smart £1750; 08 Fiesta Zetec Auto 73k £1600; 55 Freelander Dizzle £2250; 08 Nemo 1.4hdi 52k £2100; 06 X-Trail 2.2tdci £1350; 62 Corsa 7,900miles £5600; 52 Focus TDCi £300; 62 Audi A1 1.4 £9600; 09 Fiesta Titanium £3450; 62 Astra GTC 2.0 Diz SRi £7400

more in a mo, chuff time....

Bored yet?

SHortly after this a Saab 9-3 with much dentage rolled in. PBK had a photo of it, IIRC on a 55 p;late, and it had been to the moon. £825.

Mercedes A Class? On a 52? That'll be £150.

Pink Honda Jazz 03 plate - £350 to you Sir.

51 plate Micra, with some excellent* repair work on the tailgate - awaiting PBK photo - £200.

Whilst not technically shite - futurshite if you will, the second WTF moment came through soon after. A 57 plate VW Eos, diz, auto, cow, fully operational, low miles and full history......£3150.  Obviously it's not an ideal time to flog a convertible, but this was really nice - barring a small scuff on the front bumper, and a couple of marks on teh alloys - I'd have thought these are worth more.

Lots of Fiat 500's happened ....

Then New Shape mondeo, 09 went through at £1700.... looked nice enough, was a dizzle, and Zetec-spec, in a shitty metallic green.

moar Fiats.....

Then a rare sight, a 2005 Nissan Murano, complete with shiny teeth grill and a 3.5 V-shaped engine. Low miles, and what appeared to be a comfy interior, £3000 to you Squire.

Posted

More boring moderns happened.....

Then a 06 Fork Ka (PBK photo available) turned up....it had a fuel filler neck, and a confusingly rust free demeanour. £100.

I went for a wee and a fag at this point.....

Then there was some prime Cavcraft stock; a 36,000 mile Corsa CDX that badly needed a proper clean - it appeared to have been living under a tree for a very long time - but aside from some small scuffs, looked good and straight. After the Ka went through for peanuts, I was expecting the worst....but the hammer fell at £400. Still a BARG, just less of a BARG than we expected.

More boring stuff....

THEN

A S plate Vw Polo Breadvan in doom blue 4 months MoT, a few scars, nothing that couldn't be sorted, and it'd had some welding to the rear of the sills, that whilst looking solid were far from pretty.

Actioneer started at £100.

Nothing.

"£50?"

Nothing.

"Anyone got anything for this?"

Both myself and PBK were furiously trying to  think of reasons to buy it/ not to buy it / what to say to our SWMBOs, when the hammer fell....at £25.Yep. TWENTY-FIVE QUID.

Then this happened....(Yep photobucket springs into life.....)

Yep, 267075 miles.

Much weirdenss, bidding started at £100, went to £125, then £150, then a big unit in the front row went straight to £500.

It went quiet for 3 or 4 seconds, and then matey brought the hammer down.

Sold.

(to the mug over there)

Then the real start of the show, the reason I went.....

An R plate Daewoo lanos badermatic.

DSCF6532.jpg

I was expecting sub £100, PBK reckoned £200ish.

And he was bang on.

The last one I saw - prior engagements meant i needed to be home by 2, was an N plated Audi A4, with 74k, and a Category D total loss marker from 2008. One owner....£275. BOOOOOOOM.

The end.

Until PBK loads his photos.....

Soz guys, left camera in the car. I will upload tomorrow.

That PooLoo was worth a ton all day long. I just wish.........

My guesstimates for the lower end stuff weren't too far out. The pricing for other stuff was all over the shop.

For some reason neither of us registered as buyers due to the card deposit of 500 quid required. I mean, really?
