Any trolley jack deals?

Recommended Posts

My shite Chinese trolley jack died as I was working on the Multipla last night. I need a new one.

Does anybody have any personal recommendations or know of any decent deals going?

Special offer on one particular Weber at pteonline.co.uk it's £100 off at the moment and seriously cheap for a Weber @ £195.

It might be more than you want to pay, but i have WKD20 from the same maker, very robust, where they differ from the cheaper stuff is that they have proper lever type lowering control so infinitely more controllable than the screw type found in the cheaper stuff.

My last really good one was a similarly specced Sealey that cost me around £120 some 30 years ago, has seen a lot of work and is still doing good work in semi retirement with my lad.

I'm due a Costco trip soon if you're near any if the places I'm due to visit in the next couple of weeks (Leicester, Reading, Milton Keynes, London, Northampton).

I've got a big ass. Costco trolley jack, cost about £90, lifts stuff up well high and is absurdly heavy, highly recommended.

That costco one looks alright. Does it have a nice high lift? I'm sure there's a costco near here somewhere...

I think I'm done with Aldi/halfrauds jacks. They weigh too much, are too high, don't lift high enough and seem to die after 18 months or so. I need to treat myself to a decent one for a change!

I have that costo one, allegedly it's a lightweight one!! but fuck me it's heavy : but it's a diamond and lifts nice and high

You have to pay to get Costco membership? F that!

Yeah, that's why I offered to pick you one up at cost :)

We make the membership back on buying washing powder, arsewipe, gallons of fabric conditioner etc at a time and then catering for scout events too. And a 16" long great big thick black pudding sausage is £2.50 or something. There's your saving right there, one of those a week. Some of the car stuff is really good, I usually hang my nose over polishing mops, pressure washers, portable jump packs etc.

Oh, and also going on a Saturday and eating all the free tasting offers, that's like a full blown lunch on a good day.

That's really good of you but i'm not sure when I could get over to you to collect it. Maybe I could just hang around the derby branch and ask someone going in to buy me a jack, like a 12yr old asking a grown up to buy some fags for them.

Yeah, sadly I've got lots of days out with work but every one of them is south, you're Stoke aren't you?

Correct, ST6, so the top of Stoke.

I had the predecessor Arcan all alloy jack, for about 7 years, and it got some serious hammer from me.

I paid about £300 for it from eBay, then Costco started selling them for ITRO £130, and they were a serious bargain.

I was more than happy with mine at over double the price.

When it finally died, I returned it to Costco, using a receipt from an all alloy one that my mate purchased, about 10 months prior.

In typical Costco style, they refunded it, no questions asked.

Unfortunately, they only sell the alloy/steel one, now, So that is what I have.

It doesn't lift as high, as fast, and is obviously heavier - but still nowt compared to a steel Clarke etc. - but is still a very good jack.

Plus, the price was right!

Yo Tim, my garage mate goes to Costco sometimes, shall i ask him if he's got a visit lined up? He got mine for me.

I want a new one as the small 2 tonne one I've got it just too small and won't even touch the Frontera.

I want a long reach 3 or above tonne one but they seem to cost a fortune. Don't mind an old one but very few seem to be for sale
