sierraman Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Sheaf market I think, where the hotel is now
danthecapriman Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Love the mk2 Granada's. I remember them and similar rough looking Cortina's and Capri's were everywhere at one bit. Such a shame cars don't look like that anymore!
Jazzy Jeff Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I was 7 in 1993, but I can distinctly remember them building this Aldi and if you asked me when I would say "oh probably about ten years ago". My dad used to take me in the boozer round the corner (Midland) I've spent an awful lot of time in the pubs round there, and it still has the Grey 90's feel that has completely gone from Sheffield. (Was there ever a more grey decade?) The Sheaf Line Nationals are making my trousers tingle. One day I will buy one a paint it in that scheme. Although I am disapointed that there are no shots of any of the Andrews busses. I loved them that most of them were named! All those names, all those buses all long gone. They were the only colour in De-regulation early 90's Sheffield.
sheffcortinacentre Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 the buses with first logo will date the pics from the later 90's as I worked for them in Sheffield till around the time they bought out mainline, sheafline were known internally as shitline as there fleet was about knackered, there was only one that was any good think it was fleet number 875 this had be re-engined with a Volvo eng & went like shit off the proverbial shovel, one of the fitters got a bollocking for being speed trapped at over 50 mph in it, only prob was it retained the std brakes which weren't up to stopping it repeatedly esp when loaded.they were all disposed of again around the time of the first group buy out, quite abit of the fleet was exported I beleave.
sierraman Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 A colleague of mine recalled getting on a Northern Bus, en route the driver getting done for speeding on it, and refusing to turn down the radio, while the plod gave him a ticket.
