All four Walkinshaw cars are still in the race, and the worst placed one is in position 11.

Is that still the man himself pulling the strings? Or his grandson?

the drop thru dipper is scary. even at 40kmh, in a road car.

black flag was a misinterpretation of the rules around the flag. shame really.

about to pour down.......

Half time now.

To bring this into perspective, the total race distance is Dover to Inverness and we are now at Preston.

It'll be chucking it down in the second half.

But

25 of 26 cars are still racing. OK, make that 24 now. That was a nasty one.

10 cars are less than 10 seconds apart, 19 cars less than 20 seconds apart and 21 cars within the same lap.

yup. the other thing is, theres a tonne of marbles down off line, if it rain hard they move onto the race line causing major issues.

It looks fierce! They do it at twice that speed.

If rain, all that rubber and oil on the race line will turn to soap.

Add marbles and this is going to be insanity squared.

Oh, floodgates just opened. I'll deffo hang in now.

Whincup just did a 2.07.3552 - new record for V8s. That's 176+ kph average on a WET MOUNT PANORAMA!

He has diamond balls the size of grapefruits.

Shitting Nora is that pissing down! I had no idea there is rain in Oz.

That's not rain, that's Noah's deluge.

The mayhem has begun promptly.

The rain adds less than 20 Seconds to the lap times, a mere 16%.

That #1 Whincup driven Austrian Holden is really pulling away now.

About half a Minute lead, suddenly.

All four Walkinshaw cars are still in the race... Is that still the man himself pulling the strings?

Unlikely, since he shuffled off this mortal coil nearly five years ago!

Absolutely ignored by all media here just next door. I could not even find a streaming site that worked properly. No media even reported that it was on, and of course no reports on news broadcasts. And that included pay tv afaik.

I is severely disappointed.

so I is lying in bed having my ears assaulted by Aardvark blues on shoutcast. I is liking that !

Indeed.

Was the cameraman asleep?  Outlaw Bob's mate Blind Trevor could have seen Blanchard's car was out of shape.  Some "replay"!

Bathurst coverage isn't what it was, etc.  ;)

Generally they did a bloody good job, especially that suicidal helicopter pilot.

The whole thing is still as raving bonkers as it ever was. Whether you watch the 1972 race or this one, the only difference is the cars, the madness is the same. It's probably not a bad thing that it isn't in the global limelight. If it was, it'd soon be as padded and mollycoddled as that boring shit that's going on in Sochi today.

Also on is the Fuji 6h, if you can find it and the delayed Charlotte 600, so plenty of stuff to compensate my sleep deprivation.
