Was sitting at the caff on the A518 outside Uttoxeter late last week, enjoying a bacon sarnie, when a convoy of these - and attendant BFO tractor/trailers - went trundling past.

When I was wee, every farmer had an old tractor. Nobody had a new one.

So I wondered, whether tractors were still being produced and if yes, where they went.

I never asked anybody, though.

Yields are getting bigger too. I've heard complaints afrom people in England about the summer being shit - Scotland's another matter and by all account has been poor - but new world record wheat yields says it's been a cracker.
