sloth Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 todays speshul saturday superstore update. i considrer these chod. its a 2002 kia cerato. basically a hyundai elantra in a different frock. this one needed a clutch. its a light powder blue with beige interior. its really a 2000's equivalent of a marina. cheap basic and devoid of any charm. like a fridge.grey dash with beige seats. i reckon ching-pao and his mates in korea had a bit of a nanna nap when this one rolled out....2 hrs later the subframe and box are out. this thing has a pull clutch, so certin care needs to be taken, such as undoing the clutch lever on top of the box and rebuilding it a certain way...well thats munted...as is that....my work does VW (OMGNAZISHITE) suzuki (never go wrong) and Land Rover (EPIKFAILZAHOY) in the land rover corner some primo chod. much fappage....series 2a with....a period turbo setup.... its in for a brake rebuild and some fettlingnext to it, and owned by the same guymmm series 3 in minty mint condition, again in for a general fettle.omg giffer trinket steering wheel.!!! and thats todays saturday superstore, next grandstand...... Junkman, Sloth in a bowl, Asimo and 12 others 15

Bren Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 tis one of these: holden vn calais. a top spec carlton with an extra 5 inches in the middle.More like a senator than a carlton - I take it there is a six pot under the bonnet?
Junkman Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 tis one of these: holden vn calais. a top spec carlton with an extra 5 inches in the middle. That looks terminally grim. How much would be the postage to England, please?
sloth Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 More like a senator than a carlton - I take it there is a six pot under the bonnet?they run a buick 3.8 v6, which eats cam bearings. or a holden 5.0 v8. which looks like a chinese copy of a chev 350. with the good stuff left out. they also too lessons from bl, because from 69 to 1998 they used the same engine. ive owned twop and franly how the europeans didnt invade the aus market in the 80s and decimate it ill never know. junkman, postage is around 1200 ro-ro, or im sure bollox could a frame it. dugong 1
Shep Shepherd Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I recall seeing a bottle green VN Calais for sale at a used car place in Deal in the late 1990s. It was blithely advertised as being the Australian version of the Vauxhall Senator. I wonder if the person who bought it knew what they were getting themselves into. They must have liked it as I subsequently saw it pottering around the town from time to time for a couple of years afterwards.
D Spares & Tyres Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I drove a 5.0 calais ( later shape, more like an omega ) when I was in oz Was so dissapointed, virtually no v8 noise and strangled performance The 4.0 ford falcon was even worse Leaf springs too!
r.welfare Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Ah but the Australians use lower octane petrol which accounts for some of it. The 3.6V6 Commodore I rented in 2006 (the last of the Omega-type line rather than the first of the current generation) felt a lot less sprightly than the 3-litre Omega I bought when I returned to the UK.
