red,focus mot

well drove the focus in for its mot,made sure it was on lpg emissions fine,not much to mot certicate now,one advise oil leak,no welded needed,he said brakes are good for old car,will tackle the timing belt tommorrow,not been changed now on 155000 miles,so it needs one got gates one with tensioners,£32.00,have had spare key done chipped £40.

I like ours very much.

 

They rust, and certain jobs are a PITA, but they drive nicely and dont break the bank.

Looks like this one is turning out to be a decent gamble.. against all odds!

 

I have no major objection to the Focus- it looked different and drove ok, but I think it was very over-hyped by the motoring press.

 

The worst job I ever did on one was changing the clutch master cylinder on my FIL's one... and then attempting to bleed it for the next two hours  :shock:

well done the timing belt did not have camblt locking tool so i just had to wing it,did not need to take of rocker cover,just removed engine mount,water bottle,power steering resi,than fanbelt etc,water pump ok ,so made my own marks at top tippex,put new tensioners on,belt on,checked twice before spinning,no knocking,runs ok,but found thermostat housing leaking water,£13.00 for new on ebay,should be here next few days,have got ac,no belt,pump must knacked,dont need it any way,,,.belt was original at 155000 miles...

well all is done,new thermostast housing turned up yesterday,postman must have had a lie in,turned up at 5pm,...well gone as far as i need to,will be up for sale soon,£499,cheap factory fitted lpg runabout,still needs clean,but better than it was ,,,,,still using every day... :-D8)

may be keeping it yet,just testing the water,have got s/hand rear light coming soon,will fit that,i soon get bored of later stuff, :mrgreen:

running on lpg seems pretty good,still in green since i bought it,
