ford focus knocking engine mount

I have a knocking from the drivers side, ive ruled out the suspension as theres no play in any of the bushes nor the track rod end. It knocks when you turn sharply and over undulations. Ive had a look at the engine mount, its the hydro bearing type, the top of the mount diaphragm is perished but i can still feel some grease inside. Could this be my trouble?

Drop links can clatter but look ok,and arb mounts behind the susp arm. Be surprised if its a mount. Open drivers door and rock the car,that was only way i could replicate mine. Could be talking shite though...

Ive swapped the links as a matter of course with some OE ones. They're that cheap its hardly worth not doing. I specifically asked on the MOT for the garage to check the bushes and he said they were all good. A new mount is £23. If it is that at fault its dead easy job. Don't know if its related but the knocking startedsoon after the timing belt swap...

Have you checked the anti roll bar d bushes?

Check the mount has been put back in the right place as some of them have a range of movement - it could be knocking against something.

Ive looked at the d bushes, no perishing or movement in them, which is a good thing as you have to drop the sub slightly to swap them. Ive a picture of the engine mount...as you can see the diaphragm that holds the grease is perished. Dont know if this means its fucked or what, ive tried rocking the engine but its not moving excessively, though im hardly a heavy weight...

Right I've had a think on this

- it's got slight vibration at idle with either clutch in or out

-I've recently had to swap the flex on the exhaust as the braiding came to bits

-there's a knocking on bumps and sharp turns

- slight judder on take off occasionally

With the picture of the perished diaphragm above am I barking up the wrong tree?
