Great adverts from way back ( late 70s early 80s I guess). That new Granada 2.3 looks very dear at £8000 when a Merc is £8300 and Volvo 244dl £6500 ish. My Dad always said Fords were expensive, reckon he was right based on that.

I love these  -  I used to live at Ryton, my dad bought numerous Fiats at Irvine Motors and I had a holiday job at Pattersons on Scotswood Road. :-)

Haymarket.

 

I assume Noda Taxi's must be the biggest firm in the area. Their cars featured at least twice in the likely lads film 1975/76.

Yeah maybe not the biggest, but maybe the longest lived and they're still going strong too. Hacks used to run out of a wooden kiosk at the rail station before the big refurbish.
