The indicators started working?

Don't be silly they never worked. BMW don't even fit bulbs from the factory.

On all other points, no.

A mechanic I know has been bothering me all week to come look at this lovely* 307 he just got. It won't go, he got given it by the previous owner who was sick and tired of it randomly not starting then being fine again. Final straw was when it refused to go on a filling station forecourt literally seconds after being fed £70 in diesel. Matey boy got the car free in exchange for towing it and extracting the fuel.

He couldn't fix it. An autolelectrician* ran codes and then gave up. I finally got to see it at 3 this afternoon, spent less than 5 minutes pondering and advised him to buy something. At about 5 he rang to say he got one, fitted it and the car started straight away.

What did he get?

A gallon of petrol and a box of matches?

I suggested that on the phone to try and avoid even looking at it. To make things worse the damn thing was in Washington.
