I gave up company cars in 1997 so I had to buy a main car to get to work etc and after 47 brand new cars I wanted something old but wanted something able to keep up with modern traffic (1997) so I bought a 1974 Mercedes 280CE. Only 23 years old when I got it, I keep it for 3 years so no winner here!

 

For many years I had a new car every few months in the motor trade, when I gave up company cars in 1997 I worked for a small company away from the motor trade that did not supply company cars for personal use but did have two pool cars which were available for company business use, a new Mercedes 230 Kompressor manual saloon and a 1983 Mercedes 280TE. If the boss did not need the 230K I was expected to use it but really I preferred the old 280TE.

 

 

Now we have a fine selection of cars between 10 & 44 years old and I use them as weather, destination and my mood dictates!
