The more observant of you will notice some differences in the above pics about the rear of the truck.

As a master* driver, I cleverly twatted the ground when reversing and obliterated my OS rear lights.

Fortunately I have new light clusters at home, but that didn't solve the issue here and now. I'm 90 miles from home and it's getting dark.

Joe very kindly offered to lend me a trailer board. The problem is, the truck doesn't have a tow-bar

The Rover does, however. So we drove back with the car running, headlights on (dipped beam bulbs popped out the front) so that we had some rear visibility. Had to make do without indicators, but never mind!

Keen-eyed country types will recognise the second-hand baler band on the bodged trailer board. A shite fix* for winners.

That mishap was my fault anyway - I suggested which way he turn the rig round, not thinking about his long, droopy arse. Sorry mate! Keep the trailer board thing if you want, or use it to legalise an old trailer or mouldy caravan.

Don't scrap it with the clock in John, they're in demand just now. It's a one-minute job to remove, just pop off the wood trim from the N/S door end, and it lifts away; screws on the back.

Aye, it hasn't been touched for at least 12 months, and some bugger nicked its battery last winter, so it SRSLY needs some love. Next year. Hopefully.

Oh, the raffle's on tonight... fingers crossed John will soon be collectioning another Rover... from Somerset :D

Think I will have to get these fitted tomorrow :

Just can't get the shiters these days. First he writes off my Rover attempting to deliver it and then he manages to make me smash my truck lights up!

This car is cursed I reckon.

Peugeot 405 was swiftly pushed into daily service today, what a great car....

Nooooooo. Never, ever, ever buy one. You will immediately have the the 3 stripes of gearbox death appear on the dash and the car will then fill with smoke whilst you are driving at speed with nowhere to pull in. Don't ask how I know this.

I still look at the feckers and think, hmmm, maybe one day. Then I beat myself with an old TRE until I come to my senses.

Not quite a smart car, but similar...

Truck faults once again apparent so will be parked up tonight and left for a couple of month til I have interest again. Back to the peasant wagons for future collections!

Had 1 of these as a courtesy car when I stuffed my 9000 into a 3 week old Astra...great fun on the motorway running it up to the speed limiter and down again.

I had the speed limiter cutting in on a regular basis and also the ESP light hehehe.

I very much do fancy one. My work colleague (who that one belongs to) swears by it!

Anyway, taking the Lancia to work today backfired as I forgot I had agreed to pick a set of alloys up for my mate so he could have the tyres off them. 405 instead.

Managed to score this photo of suburban Britain circa 1996 mind at the M-I-L's
