Kawasaki ER5 te koop

AS SEEN AT SHITEFEST

The vehicle that I have owned for longest ever - at 22 months.

Kawasaki ER5 498cc, 49hp, six speed

44139 miles

MOT exp 22/5/2016

Why you should buy it:

+ Has a few useful accessories eg Puig polycarbonate Street Screen (makes a massive difference at speed), Scottoiler automatic chain oiler

+ I will throw in a bike cover and tank and tail packs for free as I got them at work for free anyway

+ Plenty of history and paperwork. Fully stamped service book to 30k, 'owner serviced' since, then I have all additional paperwork since I bought it at 38k in Oct 2013.

+ Doesn't look like it's ever been dropped so no mega damage

+ Ridiculously easy to maintain - VERY simple

Recent service items:

+ New battery about a week ago

+ New chain & sprocket 37000 miles (interval is 15000)

+ Oil and filter 42279 about a month ago

+ Bridgestone BT45s front and rear - R has done 3500 miles front 1500

+ New (used but like new) zorst a year ago and plugs

+ Brake pads 5000 miles ago, fluid a year ago

+ New rear wheel a few months ago

Full stuff of wot I've done in my ownership here:

Why you shouldn't buy it:

+ It was pretty immaculate when I bought it but I have had to keep it outside under a cover - there is rust on most of the exposed metal. It's no longer a shiny new bike

+ One of the exhaust collet screws has sheared but it doesn't affect the seal

+ 5 mm hole in the seat (passenger bit)

+ Has two MOT advisories (rear brake lining close to minimum limit & front wheel has a slightly distorted bead rim). Also was recommended by the garage that the head bearings have a little play in them, but this is not a failure item

Phots of the bike on a holiday here: http://autoshite.com/topic/13782-the-bikeshite-thread/?p=791248This was intended to be its last hurrah. I have two cars now and lack the dollar or space for a bike as well.

Dunno how much I'm looking for. £450? The bike is in Reading and I'll cancel the tax at the end of July

These are fugging ace commuter hacks.

The brakes are brilliant as well.

I had one for rather a long time and went and stood it on its nose resulting in 16 individual fractures to my left arm and rather a lot of metal work now holding it together.

Happy days. This should fly off your drive at £450. If you were nearer (etc etc etc). GLWTS

I had an ER-5, albeit a little older than yours. As UW says these are great commuter hacks. Riding schools used them, so they must be pretty unburstable.

Excellent VFM, get it bought.

16 individual #'s, congratulations, bet that was impressive for one limb.

That's lovely! I really enjoyed riding one of these when I was doing my DAS.

Sold - how it should be

After turning my phone in my lunchbreak and reading the usual menagerie of retarded Gumtree responses, I got a WILL PAY FULL PRICE PICK UP 2NITE IN VAN

Audaciously said yes and he turned up later after I got home. Turns out it was just a friendly local bloke who had just retired and wanted something cheap to potter about on. Perfectly amicable sale, no funny business or feeling dodgy, patronised or intimidated at all. Result.
