As with many car shows there was some interesting stuff in the car park... This Mk 2 with comedy door gaps was rather lovely

I suspect this young lad had been told to "guard the Talbot" whilst his dad went off to eyeball the rest of the chod, he did open the bonet for me to have a look at the donkey though

There was a nice selection of commercials including this one owned by Frank Miller who hails from the same village as my wife ( and she knows him)

This however was the star of the show for me. Battered to buggery, hand painted, rorty as fuck, smelling of oil and with pop rivet repairs.

I bothered the owner of that Murena for ages at the NEC

Sat in it and decided right then it was on the bucket list after the X1/9 sold.

V fine, but one small point of pedantry, if I may.  No owner of a Murena would say "guard the Talbot".  He would say "guard the Matra".    The engine ain't pretty, is it?

If you get a Murena, try for a 2.2, as the 1.6 is a tad sluggish, but the Murena is on any view a cracking car, and should have been one of the greatest cars of the early 80s, but it was denied the Douvrin or a V6, and was killed off early to make room on the line for the Espace (which in its original form was more a Matra than a Renault).

No, but it does seem to be used rather than a trailer queen.

That ZX is a little honey, Citroen got their designs very right at that time.

I have no idea how to get images off Flikr and onto here so I'll just declare my surprise at seeing a Fairthorpe as I'm browsing through the gallery.

Nice to see the not-being-restored Viva out and about.

The black vinyl wrapped one was given away in a competition by a TV channel called Viva, in a grey, lime green and pink wrap, I remember reading about it on the blue forum. IIRC they did a bad job and it was rusting under the vinyl so they had to have it redone.

Go away.

Look at this Maxi until you feel that this is a nicer car in all respects than the Sherpa Coupe

That Murena is a 2.2

I know, I was just talking in general about Murena shopping.
