Sunday 505 fun

Sunday... trailer day. This time 100 km eastwards into Austria. 

 

A friend was out collecting a nice 505 break. Car is in good nick but has been off the road for 9 years and the front breaks seized about 10 miles away from where he had it collected. We happily responded to the emergency call and found him stranded at a gas station.

 

 

A bit of hammering released the brakes, but a few miles on the engine refused to provide enough power to make a hill.

Up on the trailer with it and the next 80 km was fuel saving time for him as we pulled him to our garage.

 

 

 

Wouldn't it nicely fit into our collection of broken 505's?

 

 

Being nice people, instead of declaring it dead and offering a few pennies, brakes were fixed properly and the carb accel pump got a new seal.

 

 

Escorted in style by a Tagora SX for the next 50 km to Munich he made it home to Bregenz with no further problems.

 

 

What a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
