Taxing old Shite

I had the 305 booked in for the 16th of June for its MOT, but managed to get a cancellation today for the 6th ie this Saturday.

 

The insurance policy started on the 1st of June, but i need to get tax on it, the online tax thing doesn't seem to let me tax the car without an MOT, is there some amount of leeway on this issue, can i drive the car to the MOT centre without tax and get it taxed as soon as it passes? It currently is on sorn and looking at the old disks in the window the last time it was on the road was in 2013.

yep, you can drive to the pre booked MOT with not MOT or tax.  just need insurance.  must be taxed after it passes though.

 

i even checked this with Bedfordshire dibble, as i wasnt sure with my old E30.

Yes you may drive/ride to and FROM a pre-booked MOT in  untaxed, un-MOTd but insured bike/car/van and then afterwards youmay  park it off road with a SORN then it'll not need taxing till you use it on the road.  Day insurance usually excludes taking un-MOTd chod to/from a pre-booked MOT.

Its an old mushroom house, just a regular polytunnel with a layer of insulation sandwiched between two layers of polythene. Its a good place to store cars, there is still a good flow of air inside and its dry.
