Rocket88 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Rite, shiters, I 'm after the following if anyone out there in shite land has something suitable they want rid of. 4x4, auto, with aircon. Anything considered, pref either Satan's fuel, or lpg converted. £2k available for right car, looking at Freelanders at the moment, which seem to be Mission Controls current favourite...........
KruJoe Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Andy's Disco?http://autoshite.com/topic/20475-99-t-reg-discovery-v8-auto-lpg/ Cavcraft 1
Bear Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Look for a Delica L400. Auto, aircon, 4x4 and great fun. Freeloaders = all four tyres at once and fragile diffs making them 2wd misery very quickly. Disco is a much better bet if you actually want the 4x4 bit to work.
dollywobbler Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Another vote for Delica. Bloody thirsty, but they are ace and very tough. Uncle Jimmy 1
catsinthewelder Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I love the look of them and they are great fun to drive but I did spot my freinds one today at a local garage with the front wings and bumper covered in mayo. Not that a Disco would ever HGF like
Bear Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I got 28mpg average from my 2.8 Turbo Dieseasel. Not bad given the size/weight/silliness of the vehicle. Or that I used to drive it down the A7 at indicated 85. They handle quite well Main issues on them were stretching timing chains and EGR valve idiocy, plus pump seals carking it (mine used to get a gallon of unleaded in every other tankful) - even then it decided to give up in a cloud of filthy smoke in the middle of the high street).
dollywobbler Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 2.8s can crack heads too. I'm pretty sure this is mainly due to neglect though. My mate's is appallingly abused and not had head issues. Not even when it was using plain water during a cold spell... A chuffing noise is probably that loose timing chain problem though. As he discovered. Expensively.
