Managed to paint the rest of the Tata, it started raining so will probably end up looking worse...

I fixed the fuel lines by hack sawing the rusty pipe off and jamming some rubber fuel pipe in its place. The brake flexis came for the 360 but I haven't fitted them yet neither have I fitted the o rings to the 305's fuel pump which came today.

Also, I managed to find some bottle top alloys for my e36.

Need to change the tyres for something a bit beefier but I'm happy with the style of wheels.

I see yer old Alfa is up for sale on the blue for a grand, still with no logbook (dubious ownership status) and the lad hasn't even bothered trying to start it.

Yeah, I swapped it for this!

The e28 bmw on the left, I knew it had no engine or gearbox but didn't know the differential and fuel tank had also been removed, I only found out when the car was taken off the truck and noticed the drive shafts hanging down. By then it was too late. Also I expected to get the lights and grille with the car but they are apparently sitting on the shelf at his unit... He's on here so will probably end up reading this...

What's the plans engine wise for the BMW?

Any idea what the FOADWORX tower was originally?

Mr Bavarian Retro (on AS) has managed to source me an m20b20 for free so I'm going to go with that at the moment, It's in Irvine so it's a bit of a trek but it'll be worth it really. I had thought about fitting the 2.5 but it will cost money that would be better put to use fixing the cars I've got instead of wasting money on a car that's further than away from being on the road than the Lada.

After selling the Rascal I've started buying all the bits and pieces needed to sort out the fleet, I'm still to collect that mk2 Cavalier convertible, I need to source some 5 stud vauxhall/saab wheels for free or cheap so I can move it to the unit.

I've also done a deal on another E28 518 Auto which is the same colour and complete minus the v5 etc.

If you're having it as a keeper then it;s worth the time putting the bigger motor in it as they're potless. The still make a good noise though. God only knows what the 518i is like. I wonder what one of these would be like with a 318is motor in it?

The site was a colliery from 1750 to 1966 and I think it became a training centre for miners after it closed.

I love FOADWORX HQ.  It's like a shite Bond Villain lair.

I desperately want to drive my SD1 through a pile of empty cardboard boxes stacked outside.

If you had paid for the Alfa, I'd say you'd been spectacularly done with that swap, but seeing as it was a freebie given by someone who may or may not have bet entitled to give it away, you may have saved yourself a load of grief. Scaryoldcortina can tell a good cautionary tale about that situation.

I'm pretty sure this is the FOADWORX tower inside the headframe. Edit- it isn't, it's the same site though.

I feel like I've been done a little but having a car that's in bits is still better than having a car that wasn't legally mine, I'll have a complete e28 by the end of the week so will be able to build at least one complete car.

How to unload an engine FOADWERX style...

It's pretty much scrap, a waste of my time collecting it. By the time I buy all of the bits needed to make it into a running engine I would've been as well just buying an engine with all of the ancillaries attached, it would certainly cost less and be less of a hassle sourcing all of the bits for an engine that I don't even know that it runs.

The engine survived my unloading technique anyway.

An an easier way would have been to shoot backwards slam on the brakes then drive away again.

I thought you were going to reverse-1st it off the back of the wagon. So disappoint.

I'll try that next time.

I'm actually considering moving the 5 series on, it's a distraction I don't really need at the moment, I have other cars that deserve attention more than this.

I finally got around to fixing the fuel leak on the 305, huge thanks to lacquer peel for the ebay link for the o rings I needed.

Managed to get it all back together ok, I need to adjust the idle speed next but I drove around 100 miles with no fuel leaks and without the reek of diesel coming into the car...

I love that wading level air intake.

Glad you got it sealed up man.

Had another productive day at foadwerx 2.0, we changed the flexi pipes on the Volvo 360 and bled the brakes again. All seems to work again but since the brake dragging/binding issue was intermittent we'll have to see if it re-appears.

I took the opportunity of having a massive clear space to park to make a shite line-up...

While working down there today I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognise, I answered and the guy at the other end says hello, is this Scott? I said yeah, how can I help? He tells me his dad is looking to sell his car, a 51k, one owner mint condition car that has mot until May.

Naturally I offered a reasonable £200 and he accepted, I collect it tomorrow!

Luckily I didn't win any of the car raffles tonight!

What a fucking day I've had!

This morning I went and bought the Proton for £200!

It was slow as fuck, hissing out of the exhaust etc...

Got it on the ramp and then cut this off

It was full of this shit

I need to put an exhaust back on it but it now drives well, on the drive back it felt choked and restricted unless driven like a giffer. How the fuck the owner didn't notice it drove like shit I'll never know. He spend £400 on welding for the last mot, there's a section of floor that has recently been underseaaled and the welding looks to be done to a good standard.
