K-Seal,does it actually work?

Anyone had any success using this?.The Volvo has always lost a bit of coolant, like from max to min on the header tank in 2 or 3 days. It's got a bit worse recently though,I'm guessing due to the warmer weather. When it's up to temperature it  runs out from under the car.I can't actually see where it's coming from, but it seems to run down from the water pump area. It's not overheating at all,so maybe the water pump is working ok,but isn't sealed.I was thinking of chucking a bottle of K-seal in,what do you reckon?.Someone on the Volvo forum seemed to think it might not be a good idea due to the water cooling for the turbo.

Any advice appreciated,thanks.

Yes it works, but is also likely to clog up the smaller water-ways. Use it if you're going to sell in the near future,

dunno i've never used it, but if you want to get rid of a car with OMGHGF then i guess its worth a punt.

if its a car you want to keep, then i wouldn't use it, and get the car fixed properly.

Didn't work for me, but its not that expensive, so nothing to loose by trying. I would be more annoyed if i had blown £30 on steel seal and it hadn't worked though.

I've used it several times, on weeping waterpump, leaking thermostat housing to name but a few. If the cooling system is in generally good condition that's to say the rad isn't furred up etc then its well worth using to repair a problem as above. I wouldn't use Radweld though these days, its just not up to the job on anything made in the last 20 years. I'd give it a go.

I put it in my Audi 80 cabriolet as a temporary stopgap when the heater matrix developed a small leak.

Before I put it in I was getting the smell of antifreeze through the vents and I was also getting air locks and a damp carpet plus the interior was constantly steaming up when I used the heater.

Two years later and the car was still leak free and wasn't overheating I even drained the coolant out and put fresh coolant in the car and flushed the system as I wanted to make sure nothing was clogged up and it had obviously worked as the leak never came back so in my book the stuff works miracles..

When I bought the car I suspect the matrix was already leaking as when I steam cleaned the interior the carpets were quite grubby around the matrix area so it must have been leaking for years beforehand and Kseal made a permanent repair :)

It's been used on both my 18 and my 340 with varying degrees of success.

It worked on the 18's leaking water pump for about 5k miles and then started leaking again so put more in, which has lasted about 6k miles and is still going okay - it did lose all of its coolant lately but I just lobbed some more water/antifreeze in, and it seems to be fine. I should really just change the water pump gasket on this one though.

The 340 as I understand had a slight coolant leak before I got it, and some k seal was lobbed in, it hasn't leaked in my ownership at all.

yes definately worth a shot, i`ve `cured` a few heater matix`s with it and made a head gasket last just that bit longer. DO NOT put in in a Rover 827 though, it will clog it.....

Radweld use to state that on the reverse of the bottle, DO NOT USE ON Rover 825/827.
