1999 Daihatsu Cuore must die *free bits*

Just taken a T reg Daihatsu Cuore in with no MoT

Doesn`t owe me much luckily....

Failed MoT on emmisions apparantly

Started it up and it seemed OK apart from a very minor rattle somewhere. Checked oil and water. NO OIL. Not a drop on dipstick!

Filled oil up to correct level. Started car. Rattle now gone but the yard filled with smoke and the smell of burning oil.

Turned car off and chucked some scrap in it that was lying about.

Will weigh it in next week sometime but thought I would mention it in case anyone on here wants any parts. For free :)

Quite rare I think, when it was first mentioned to me a few weeks ago I to google it so I knew what it looked like.

The lady I got it off seemed genuinely sad to see it go after ten years. It had never gone wrong apparantly. But  maybe she was just overwhelmed with happiness to see the back of it......

So, free bits if anyone is interested, silver 3 door 1.0. Can remove anything for you free if its easy, small charge if not.Postage at cost.  Or just come down and help yourself :)

Someone on here is well gay for these things! He was looking for a specific variant, a while back.

Bet he'll have hods of bits. :-)

Anyone remember who?

How rotten is it? If it's sound, might be worth someone chucking a new motor in it.

That will be Chris.

If the battery is ok I could do with a decent one for the Austin.  Do these have 12" wheels?

Happy to chuck you a few quid

Not rotten , just a bit scabby in places.  I really wouldn`t think its worth fixing up, don`t think it would be worth it. nice sounding engine though, despite the smoke. Just needs rings I reckon.

Does seem a shame to scrap it without some bits going on another car though. Despite me weighing in around 1 car per week I always think its a waste, most are doable just not financially viable

It was me that was looking for one. Has it got fabric front door cards in it?

13 inch wheels. Battery is good but its one of those small jap ones with tiny terminals. Won`t fit Austin but I`ve probably got one that will!

Its a 5 speed manual

I think the door cards are fabric but not 100% sure. Grey / blue pattern on seats and possible door card but didn`t give it that much attention. I`ll be next down the yard Saturday I reckon, I can have a look then and take some photos

I could do with one of those tiny-terminal batteries. Shame you're flipping hours away.

I can get it to stafford if you are ever that far south

Best not post it...
