Chipex Test - VW Go!

Ben splashed out on a new car when he got his job. He'd been saving for years and years. He'd worked hard at Uni and teacher training and got his first job fairly locally, bought the car and enjoys driving it. It is a nice wee City car. Perfect for what he needs.

A couple of months passed and he came home with a couple of scratches on his front bumper, parking stuff, pretty typical around here. No-one gives a stuff about other folks cars. I bought a Chipex kit but didn't quite get round to it until today. Some knob end flung a bottle, maybe out of their car - who knows. It hit the deck, broke and part of it bounced onto the bonnet of the Go! No dent thankfully, just a scratch. Out came the Chipex this morning.

I will post piccies afterwards.

Scratches cleaned with the blending solution and paint applied leaving a blob effect. It is just drying now (depending on ambient temp this can take 20 minutes plus.

Next step is to wipe over it with a foam pad and cloth using a small amount of blending solution. It then has to dry further before polishing. All the necessary is supplied.

Will see how it goes.

I guess these are a bit like the original Ka to drive, a wheel at each corner so quite Mini-esque.

I think that isn't a bad comparison, nice little thing.

The Chipex will need more layers applying as the scratches were deeper than I realised. Looks like it will rain, so no more paint applying for now.

Looks better already and at least the metal is protected.

They are nice to drive, had a hire one in spain and it was a nice little thing.

The Skoda version is called CityGo, hence your confusion. I had one as a loaner once: it was busy and buzzy and felt quite old-school (in quite a good way).

Looking forward to pics and more report on the Chipex, sounds interesting.

Ah, most likely reason other than just imagining it. Seat do a version too.

Just building more layers up. Getting there.
