how much would an RX8 engine be ?

They're quite hard work too because of the lack if torque . Once you get over the fun of how easy it revs up in day to day duties they can be a bit laborious . I think the hot start issue can be postponed a bit by fitting a supa high power starter that spins the fucker so fast it gets around the compression issues from the worn tips up until a certain point.

I toyed with getting one for a bit so did a lot if reading up on them but bottled it in the end.

I had an RX7 (last shape whatever that is) and I loved it. Bought it at auction and it was another one of those cars the auctioneer could hardly get a bid for - plenty of action from the wall..

I think I paid about £500 for it and it was truly, mint. Silver and not a mark on it anywhere. Bought it expecting the worse but it ran perfectly hot or cold. It was horrendously thirsty but such a  great car to drive, the engine is such a delight to rev the lack of low down torque hardly seems to matter. I loved the warning buzzer to tell you the rev limit was close...

Sold it to the ONE person that called about it for a good profit as he recognised it was a  'good 'un' but it was such a cow to sell I steered clear ever after. If there was an RX 8 with receipts for an engine rebuild in recent history, I would be very tempted.

They look nice, so buy it very cheap and (going against everything I've ever said) get rid of the engine and put any normal one that fits in. Wouldn't care the size power or any of that crap so long as it fitted and worked OK I'd use it

But, you don't see me putting my cash where my big mouth is do you? I would though if I had any balls....

What's that, putting your money where your balls are?

Or putting your balls where your big mouth is?

I am not about to do this, as it would be silly on so many fronts, the biggest being that I don't have the time and patience, and CBA.

The next biggest is that I need a car with 5 seats and back doors for the old people, who get a bit upset when you squeeze them in the back of the BINI (father in law is nearly 80 and was 6 foot 4 before he retired. Seems to be shrinking)

And then there's the fuel consumption. If you can lpg them, that might be an option, but see above. (CBA)

Now am thinking the future replacement of the Hondaicdtiaccordian, with have to be LPG and V8.  I'm budgeting 3 more years out of the bugger.
