pshome Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Stopover at the ex Ford, Simca, Chrysler, Talbot factory at Poissy on the weekend trip to France. In some areas, te site is not much different as on the old pictures. Still the new cars are parked in front of the historical main building waiting to loaded onto GEFCO trains. The main entrance lost any inscription, and the Peugeot lion now decorates the old water tower. There is an excellent museum along with a restauration work shop at the site operated by CAAPY and run by very helpful and knowledgeable retired factory employees. We were extremely well received by these chaps and had an excellent time. A must visit when you are in Paris! ChinaTom, pickup57, Junkman and 22 others 25
Uncle Jimmy Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Phwoar, the sight of a JRG Simca 1100 is enough to raise my pulse. What's the wee green origami thing?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Is Simca-Talbot the most shite of all volume car producers? I think maybe yes. They just kept smashing out one shite 'home run' after another and then disappeared up their own arse. Thats a car make I can do business with Parky, Junkman, Pete-M and 3 others 6
dollywobbler Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Fabulous. Never knew such a temple of win existed.

Uncle Jimmy Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Kinda mixed bag; the Aronde, 1000 and 1100 were all very successful. Simcas have a certain allure for me, unwitting charm, a kind of gauche practicality and an 'everydayness'.
Alexg Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 WOW, I'm so going to that place when I'm next in Paris.
pshome Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 More pics, enjoy.... Uncle Jimmy, eddyramrod, DS20 and 6 others 9
Junkman Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 1966 Simca 936, meant to compete with the Mini, never made it to the assembly lines though. Probably one of their few wise business decisions. Note to self: Drive more Simcas.
406V6 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Great pics. What a stylish and appropriate way to visit it a PSA / Talbot / Simca museum - in a Tagora.
garethj Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 That's very impressive! If Autoshite had a gathering in that museum they'd need to lay on treble-shifts of paramedics to catch all the people passing out from pleasure. Junkman and Uncle Jimmy 2
Pete-M Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That's worth a trip to France. When is it they're banning cars?
