Probably 29 I can't afford.

Will everyone stop telling me to calm down please.

I'm ok, just a bit gutted at missing so many.

Stop being gutted!  :D

Thing is PBK, I've got this week off, so ideal for a road trip.

As of Monday, I'm back to the daily - or in my case nightly - grind, so maybe people can understand my haste.

I had one bloke who wanted my V40 there and then, full asking price. Because I'm a fair minded bloke, I let someone else have first dibs, and never heard from him again.

First come, first served now, no more dibs.

Dave has a V40 Volvo

Says it's too small so has to go

He wants a big brick

He's now feeling sick

He's missed another one, oh no!

He found an XC on Facebook

So called the guy to have a look

Turns out he's a perv

Dave gave him the swerve-

When will he have some good luck?

Well I ventured over to Perv Land......... I had a good old drive round the slightly miserable 50's low rise accommodation and lo and behold........ there was no sign of anything green and Volvo shaped.

I think you had a lucky escape from a possible human trafficking scam. Come and view an old Volvo, meet 'friendly' seller, get drugged whilst viewing the car via a rigged air freshener and sold to the highest bidder.

Sorry mate, no evidence of Volvo whatsoever.

Right, I got so peed off trying to sell the V40, I took it to the local Country Park, tied the arse end to a tree, drove off, and this is what happened.

Not a bad looking thing, is it.

Desperately needs a couple of front tyres - 195/60/15's if anyone has a couple.

Had to go to Sheffield for this one. It had been sitting on a drive for a few months. When it started up, it sounded a bit 'ticky', but I reasoned it was a dry start because of how long it had been sitting. I was right, I started it again yesterday and it was fine. Oil change coming up. I didn't take the camera for the trip, but wish I had done. On the way back, I used the route I used to take when I was running containers from Felixstowe to oop North, M1, A57, A1, M11, M25. On the M11, I was overtaken by three 9 series Volvos, two stretch limos and a hearse, but all in white, and immaculate. Wished I'd got a pic of those.

Those photos I put up are just as I bought it. Started doing a bit of polishing yesterday, and blimey, does it look good. I think this one will be staying at Tetley Towers for a while. I think there's a bit of an exhaust blow, but pah, trivialities. I had forgotten just how quick these 20 valves are.

Definitely need those front tyres though.

More pics after a jolly good polish.

Nice one, so you finally moved the V40 on then?

Posted

Yes Ken. A chap from Sevenoaks came over and bought it.

He's moving house, so he reckons it'll come in well handy.

He's also going to run some tools up to Scotchland in it.

He was well pleased with it, but then, it was a good little car.

Mind you, he's a mud plugger in his spare time and used to diesel Discos, so it was like a Rolls Royce to him.

Haha, excellent stuff all round. Cool!

If you're worried about the tyres, but you're gonna be a week or two seeking bargain replacements, to be safer I'd jack up each side of the car, and swap the wheels, front and rear.

I'm glad you're enjoying it mate.

Cheers Joe.

I've put a post in the wanted/offered thread, but I reckon I'll be looking around locally as well.

Hopefully I'll find something by Monday.

Perhaps a trip down to your local part-worn tyre emporium is best - it should be a common enough size, and they can usually fit and balance them for you cheap enough while you wait.
