Great! Love how the roads are pretty much open despite the testing and hawthorns reaction to a dithering cyclist " typical French"

A big pair deffo required when you imagine passing slower cars on the mulsanne, at night with trees lining whatever path the accident takes

Even back then they were doing impossible cutaways. Around 3m25s you see him driving with no camera ahead of him and then it cuts to a shot from the front with him talking. Where was the camera?

Sorry just annoys me that, especially on these 'reality' docs like 'That twat thats know Ricky Gervais going places' where he must act out the same routine about 5 times for the amount of camera shots.

Was quite enjoyable vid though other than that. You can tell her was really steaming despite it looking slow in the video. After what happened the year before, I would expect him to have kept a low profile but am probably looking at it by todays standards where vilification and hatred run rife.

I did wonder if it was a second camera giving a close-up via the rear view mirror.

Wonderful but it is actually made up of two different shoots. The camera looking back has the commentary and the rear-mounted camera just shoots a different lap - which is why they end up out of synch. At one point, he's turning into a first gear corner while the sound is of a change UP the gearbox. I also get a bit narked by that.

The new way seems to be to use action cameras that are actually visible to other cameras - employed to good effect on Roadkill.

Hmmm. The quote function doesn't work well on my phone, and there's no edit function!

Those trees are not less intimidating lined with three layers of armco, as I found out in 1986, going down the Mulsanne at 210 with my STT Corvette.

This is what a lap looks like fairly nowadays:

Excellent. Enjoyed that a lot.

I shall be doing as much of a lap as possible in July in a Renault 4 at suitably lower speeds.

At least the chevy didn't have to contend with "cv and French cyclists

Thanks for the 2nd video.

I drove the road parts of the track back in 2010 at a similar speed to Mr Lobster plans.
