phil_lihp Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 A fairly random thought occurred to me last night. With another car on the fleet needing work I can't do, it got me thinking about my considerable shortcomings when it comes to running old cars, not least my complete and utter lack of any knowledge or experience of welding. I love to fiddle and tinker when I can get the chance and will have a go at most things but have a lot to learn and working on cars at home can be difficult due to space constraints and no garage/shed. I dare say I'm not alone here. This got me thinking, there's clearly a lot of cars and a lot of expertise on this forum so I wondered whether some sort of labour exchange might work. I've done similar with Philibusmo a few times in the past, I've spent a day or so helping/hindering him on a big job and in return he's helped me out (read: more or less done it while I watched and handed him tools) with mine. Obviously there's logistics to consider and it would be heavily dependent on a spare day/weekend lining up for those concerned of course but I'd be up for offering myself out if there are people on here who need another pair of hands to get something finished (or started) and I can learn something from it. I'm in Devon but don't mind a bit of a trip if I can make a weekend out of it. What's the thoughts on this? HMC, eddyramrod, Partridge and 2 others 5
