holbeck Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Spotted in Rochester this morning. (Peugeot)Talbot seems to live at No. 305 overrun 1
Timewaster Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 It could easily get like that quite quickly if someone's health or welfare has taken downturn. Hopefully there isn't a sad story behind it. Gaz_Volga and oldcars 2
vulgalour Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 It's true, the Xantia was going green after sitting for just a couple of weeks. If you've got really clean air it's surprising how fast the vegetation can take over.
Benjyp10 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Please get some more info on the car, or knock on the door and see if they will sell please. Its a Solara. Cheers Julian HillmanImp, Alexg and trigger 3
Benjyp10 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Mission. Locate car and save. I definitely would like this car please..... Essex V6 and AlabamaShrimp 2
Angrydicky Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I remember this car doing a few rounds of Ebay in the Glasgow area, about 3-4 years ago. It looked a bit ropey in places if I remember correctly, possibly rust starting under the rear quarterlights? Amazing it's ended up down this way, and the fact it's been brought so far would tend to suggest the owner is an enthusiast. Strange to see it sitting like that in that case, I'd guess at a major mechanical fault, or possibly a bereavement or illness.
alpinerapier Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Great to see this Solara GLS again. Remember it in Edinburgh a few years ago when it was a nice low mileage one owner car. Sadly ended up in 'U-Pull it' in Inverkeithing. Despite the odds it made it out the breakers yard following several postings here, found a new owner on south of Glasgow. Needed the rear arches doing badly due to salty Scottish roads. Changed hands a few times via E-Bay. Finally got worked on and a MOT was obtaining before being sold again on E-Bay. Last known owner was in the Glenrothes area before being sold on E-Bay yet again.Needs to find a good home.
alpinerapier Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 http://s138.photobucket.com/user/ambyglam/media/talbot1.jpg.htmlTaken back in 2009 when in U Pull it, Inverkeithing by an employee who posted here regularly.
theorganist Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 It's a shame to see it like that but at least we know about it. Hopefully if the current owner can't or won't get it on the road one of us can. Talking of rare French cars in Scotland. Some time ago pictures appeared of a X registration Renault 14 in blue. I think it was somewhere in the north of Scotland. I was emailed some information about it on an old e-mail account which I can no longer get to. I then heard it had disappeared. I would have bought it if it was for sale but could never find out exactly where it was or whom owned it! Just wondering if anyone on here from the Scottish contingent may no about it's whereabouts. Apologies for the thread drift!
alpinerapier Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 A couple more pics of the Solara. By this time it had the n/s rear wing/ wheel arch repaired to get it through an MOT. Any ideas where about in Rochester it is ? theorganist 1
Gaz_Volga Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 I can let you know where it is via PM, if that's permissible?
