That's the first Favorit I've seen with hubcaps on, it looked so weird to me I had to Google for Favorits to see if they ever came with hubcaps, which they did, so what happened to them all?

They are Felicia hubcaps, but they fit a treat

Some late Favorits appear to have sported the same cap in unpainted black plastic, earlier ones appear to have a sunken cap in silver or black plastic.

Late Favs had centre caps that were bolted on and had plastic plugs over the wheel nuts, which were very prone to go missing. These hubcaps are actually held on by sprong clips over the wheel nuts, nice and secure, and they really lift the look of the wheels. Today the spare wheel arrived, but still need a jack for it

It's slowly getting the TLC it deserves

Been busy today, the rear wiper motor had shat it's guts, and the rear washer pump was missing. Sourced replacements via Motorhog in Doncaster, wiper motor had a totally different multi plug, so I cut the plug off the old motor and used spade connectors. Like a berk I got the positive and neg the wrong way round, so the wiper was going constantly (DOH!).

Then I sorted the washer pump, pump worked OK, but the jets seemed blocked, ho hum, disconnected the pipe from the new pump, blew compressed air through, nowt out of the jet, so was off with the jet, blocked, just as I thought, so that got a blasting of air, job done, all in all was about half an hour's work, and the satisfaction that I'd fixed something for once, now I need to go get a fresh blade for the rear, as feck knows how old that un is. Shite vid clip on cam phone of my handywork :P

Update on this, it blotted it's copy book this week, I don't think it likes being pressed in to every day use, now done 4.5k since January with it, 2k of that in the last month and a bit! Monday evening , starter motor packed in, managed to bump start it to get us home, couldn't find a garage who could fix it Tuesday, so was booked in at Nacton Auto Electrics, work as they are so short staffed lent me an absolutely monging X reg 1.7D Corsa with starship miles, and so rusty it looked like it had been sat on the sea bed, no photo of it, because quite frankly I was too ashamed to take one.

New starter now fitted, fires up a treat, wallet a fair old bit lighter though. Starter has lasted just shy of 20 years, so really can't argue. Alternator and battery both given the thumbs up health wise by the sparkies at Nacton too, nice even voltage coming from the alternator :)
