bigstraight6 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Anybody out there fancy this Pooma 1.7 as a bit of a project? It has MOT until July, and tax to the end of month to allow driving home (ahem). It does have a few issues, namely the ABS light being on and a rough engine idle which does make it stall when slowing down, other than that it pulls really strongly with no rattles, knocks or smoking. The bodywork is good with only the OSR wheel arch starting to bubble, but it's not too bad at this stage and I've certainly seen worse examples! I'm sure the rough idle problem is down to a valve issue, but I'm usually out of my depth with anything other than old OHV engines hence rather than attempt having a go at repairing it for the sister in law (it's her car) I found her a Disastra diesel a few weeks ago hence this Pooma has to go.......
gadgetgricey Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 My Xantia has just landed me a big bill for its MOT. In two minds to burn the Xantia and just buy this instead as always fancied one.Does it have Air con and heated front windscreen to make my temptation complete - Dave -

Sloth in a bowl Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 About 3 months too early for my planned Puma hunt, darn.
sporty-shite Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Bit too far out for me, unfortunately. Pity, cos I fancy another of these. They're ace.

beko1987 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 The ICV's on these are very unreliable. I always thought mine was the cause of running like a bag of shit, but it just wasnt worth fixing! Damn good service (with the right oil), new ICV, clean the MAF, good hoon to clear it all out and it'll be a great winter beater, mine was sooooo good in the snow! ABS could be fun* though, think the sensors are fragile rather than the rings, never had an issue on mine but plenty did (project puma ill expalin all! GLWS! If I was single again I'd be tempted! The rusty arch WILL be rotten to the inner seam though, but at this price who cares? Mine got through its last MOT full of silicone and rattlecanned black! Someone get it bought, then go for a hoon! They like the top end of the rev range
