BX bits

Rather than derail the Ebay thread, here are some details.

Rear door, in white. Think it is nside, but I could be wrong. It is complete and I will check later.

Parcel shelf is for a hatch. It would fit an estate, but would be too short.

I'll see what else is stashed away shortly.

Definitely a nearside rear door. Also have headlamps, indicators (mk1 and mk2) and a hydraulic pump for a non-turbo diesel. On top of this, I have a bag full of black interior trim bits - all the little things including column stalks, steering column shroud etc.

Door would prove useful to replace the creased one on the astate and the stalks could be handy for stock. Might arrange a trip over one day when you're free?

Ok. Sounds like a plan. Andy - I'm free most of the time at the moment. Found various wheeltrims too.

I only want one for stock so your need is definitely greater so obtain away!

Ian, next week maybe then? I'll contact through PM in a bit.

SHOW US YURE TRIMZ BARRETT! I've a set of RD spec trims now I've gone Speedline.

These ones

Wouldn't mind changing them for a different style, and I do need to find a set of alloys for it at some point. What have you got?

FWIW, this car was in a yard in Bloxham, Oxfordshire, recently, and probably still is. I keep meaning to go over and scavenge it for bits. Any other BXers want to make a day of it? I think it's the sort of yard where you can turn up with a hammer and some sockets and they let you get on with it. I'd probably want wings, rear doors and seats...

I've got a mix of those scabby TG trims it already wears and RD ones like FPB7 has.

Hmm. Birmingham to Oxfordshire? Possible, very possible. There's a lot that could be scavenged from that!

I think this year might be the year to hoard some harder to get BX parts if you're intending to keep them on the road. Parts cars seem to be drying up now and apart from things like service items, other parts are getting trickier to get off the shelf and it will be soon when they'll be deleted from stock as too old/not enough demand. Unique plastics are always worth getting, even the wrong colour as they can always be recoloured but when they're gone......

Luckily, on the mechanical side, they share a lot with other PSA stuff so engines and boxes are always around if needed. Hydraulic bits on the other hand (rear cylinders for estates are stuff of legend now across Europe although I've heard that Xantia ones can be modified to fit).

Having just spent a small fortune on a steering coupling and a flow valve, I'm inclined to agree. Sensible thing to do, which I probably will if I get some spare cash, is to buy a 300euro snotter from northern France and drive it back and stash it on the drive until I need something unobtainable

FPB7 - later in the week will suit me better. First few days are looking a bit of a 'mare.

Wasn't a set sorted out for you earlier? I'll see what I can do.

Nah- Ruffgeezer nearly had a set for me but then they didn't come through and then I passed on my Zx trims to sporty-shite. Still on the hunt.
