the small section of key that should locate in the fob should be visible - it never goes that far in the keyhole  and isn't designed to - use some molegrips to turn it, or indeed to pull it out. The passenger side lock has never been sticky and it doesn't need much leverage to turn it.

If the remote blipper works, that's very much the way to go. Finding the sweet spot can be tricky - I find anywhere rearwards of the A pillar works best and the button needs a good press. A quick press won't do anything.

 

As for the locks, the key needs to (ahem) penetrate deeply to operate. Otherwise, it just spins as you've encountered. Similar to the interia door locks on a 2CV in fact...

Lol, hoping it wouldn't come to that - I jammed the door lock full of grease after 1/2 an hour of -left right left right- with pliers on the end and it opened. Phew

 

I gave it a good clean yesterday:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And then gave it a 'machine polish' today as there was no way that black tree stuff was shifting by hand. Drives lovely and I wasn't expecting it to be so tidy, interior hoovered up and is like new.
