Can these actually be replaced on a XUD, or does the entire engine have to be changed?

I mean because wetlinerkarfuffle.

Ha, yes I've offered to him many times but he seems to like the pain of welding his other bx's!

Its got several things going for it  - its an auto and its the same colour as Phoenix - its in Stroud which might as well be in his back garden and its cheaper than a night out in Pill with a group of drunken bus drivers ;)

No wetliners in these - cast iron block - HGF is fairly common at some point in their lives - usually just rot but often caused by poor coolant or overheating - these cars only have a yellow and red warning light so not much warning! - saying that I've never had these come on or overheated it in my ownership - it's had fresh coolant over couple of years too IIRC.

Sensible head re-fitted, I must not take on any more projects despite wanting another bx. I think I can wait until JohnK is selling his ;)

Sorry to hijack this, but do any of you BX fetishists know of a guy in Thatcham, Berks? I drive past his house occasionally and there are at least 3 BX's in his front garden in varying states of disrepair.

I should imagine he is a club man.

Station Road and they've not moved in a decade so if he's a club man he's not an enthusiast...

Fleet reduction syndrome isn't it.

Or potential chronic loss syndrome ?

Any interest from shiters at all before I either take the head off or stick it on eBay for more and try my luck??

We've still been driving it regularly and it the pressurising hasn't been a problem - I'm not even sure if my other half has needed to top it up - at least she hasn't moaned about old cars for a few days...
