I think that front spoiler is the m-tec bumper they put on them before they properly brought out a sports model. I like that blue I had one in this colour last year. Unfortunately it was a 520i.

Mine pretty much stays put when there is snow and serious ice.  It is absolutely hopeless then.  Auto-box and RWD are not helpful in low adhesion conditions.

My old 540i (S reg) had that front bumper and those wheels.

 

I've noticed this one has late spec front lights and early spec rears. ..

W plate is pre facelift. Clear rear indicators and anal eye headlights arrived for 2001 X/Y along with slimmer side strips and different front foglights.
