Which one's body is factory original: wider or longer?

Wider? There's a sort of ridge in the roof of the long one that suggests all is not what it seems.

Or it's a reflection and I'm talking shite.

Look again at the pickup - it is a 3 seater

think I can see the join in the stretched one  :-) hoping that is a factory model.. but I'll say the pickup is the genuine one, as above.  Looks like a decent job!

I've found another pic of The Longer

I don't want to cast aspersions on the quality of factory workmanship , but as the pickup looks more professional than the estate, I'm going with longer being the factory one and that lovely looking pickup the result of a man in a shed that needed to fit the motherinlaw in the cab .

The limowagen  is just about shite enough to be factory. It is bad enough to have been built by workers who really don't care. Unless it was some kind of prototype.

BUT... the pickup is lovely.

So limowagen  is my pick.

Bingo!

I don't know history behind the pickup, but I've heard it was bought new by wealthy greengrocer/farmer back in communism time and he ordered rebuild to accomode one more employee. If it's true - dont know.

The longer is factory original (or some shed at the factory' backyard) hearse.

Yeah I read on wikipedia they made a few stretch convertibles for tourist trips, so this wouldn't have been a massive problem.

I don't think it was workers fault - at every factory people are just working to sustain their families. It was sick system (now called shortage economy) that made it possible that such crap was sellable and even sought after.

We call them "Dachshunds" - and they are quite rara avis.

I wish I never sold my Pickup. It was brilliant. Used more oil and water than fuel.

So what was the wide one all about?

And Dax, will you show us your motors?

The pickup is ca. 12inches wider then the rest of 125p/polonezs. Maybe this pic doesnt show it, but from close distans it looks bizzare. But also brilliant.

My current cars you can check in my AS gallery :-)
