That saviem is a wonderful thing.Have you still got your Subaru? Whats the sketch with it?

Subaru has been sold for parts, unfortunately. The cost of replacing the clutch was more than the car was worth, and I had nowhere to store an immobile car.

Hey ho. I can speak with authority on changing subaru clutches, and it officially a pain in the ass.

Spied that earlier on the bay and figured it must be the same one but I didn't recognise the seller so wasn't sure. It does look tidy. What happened to that 4CV?... can't remember if you even collected it.

Looks absolutley great! Must make you feel pretty sick eh wuvz?!

It does to an extent, although I still haven't quite forgotten the three and a half hours I spent in a layby in Gloucestershire waiting for the AA or the £XXX I spent on new tyres and trailer repairs, so there's still a small element of love/hate between that truck and myself. Plus I really don't have anywhere to put it - even outside my garage where I was storing it when I had it was far from ideal as it was so big and difficult to manoeuvre that I couldn't get it out (and hence couldn't get whatever was in the garage out) unless the bloke across the road had gone out in his van as I had to reverse it into his driveway. Having said that, it's a nice old beast to drive, and should be even nicer now that the exhaust is quieter, although there's no way in arse it'll do 25mpg - you might get 20 if you're lucky. If the bidding stays low (which it probably won't) I might still buy it back now that it can legally be parked on the road if need be. Ideally though I'd like to see it heading Bicklewards for a nice beavertail conversion.

Nope, never did get to collect that one - problem was that 'cos it was so far away the only day I could collect it was Saturday, and we couldn't sort out a mutually convenient time. Shame really - would have been a nice little thing, and I'd even sourced a windscreen for it.

Shame. I never realised before that they were a bit like Beetles and Minors in terms of parts availability so relatively easy to repair. Probably not so good for a daily though.

When did the 304 flee the nest?Nice Carlsson.

Sadly -I think the Saviem is going to go too high for me; as I've a few too many ''in the pipeline''. Finishing the BX clutch, Fiat Coupe top end & Punto softop engine replacement [cheaper than a gasket set & specialist tools!] -when it gets a bit warmer -nearly done, then its on to a Fiorino van with a blown headgasket, an FSO 125p (to go with my saloon) courtesy of Mr A, & a GTA turbo -courtesy of Mr B!Fregates nearly done, 117 midway bellett mid weld,-so finances are a bit tight right now, sadly.

304 went over the summer - needed a shiteload of welding in awkward places which I hadn't spotted. Not sure what happened to it in the end. :(

Cool, an original one or a modern one?

What became of the R9 Turbo wuvvum?

 It got scrapped for its engine (not by me I hasten to add). With 12 months' MoT on it. Don't ask why, because I'm still struggling to work it out myself.
