Thoughts on Volvo change

Purplebargeken here and alert!

Fancy some 2001 R75 Connie SE V6 2.5 auto joy? MOT'd until Dec sometime. Needs a replacement screen 'cos I iz a hamfisted knob. It star cracked in the very, very LH bottom corner. Not in the MOT area anyhoo and I would have got it replaced under the insurance (when it was to be insured). Alloys are a bit tatty but the tyres are great. It starts first turn of the key and purrs like a kitten that has taken purring enhancing medication. It's all lovely in Roverland. See Ben's for sale thing for more details. It's in Essex too.

Forgot to add that it has leather, PAS, auto dim rear view mirror, great sounds and the rear passengers even get cupholders! Heated front seats as well, just like a Volvo. Direct swapsies is good for me.

Hi Dave, if you have a peek at Ben's for sale ad he has some rather good piccies. I haven't got any more sadly. I found the link the other day but buggered if I can see it now.

The R75 is currently slumbering in a barn near Ingatestone.

Slight thread hijack : can 75s be insured on a classic policy ?

Hello Siggy. Not sure about a 'classic' policy but PBI did look ok upon it. They quoted me £185 or thereabouts for a London address, no garaging and parked on the street and fully comp. I thought that was quite reasonable tbh.

Yes, mine is :)

I'm 25 and have paid £195 for a year fully comp with all the bells and whistles (protected no claims, hire car, legal etc...). That's with Chris Knott.

The car Dave is selling was mine for a while.

I can thoroughly recommend it.

High-ish mileage, but really nothing for the redblock engine.

It was a bloody good car, but I just didn't gel with it.

That isn't bad at all. Bloody London, banging up my insurance premium lol.

I know Volvo's well. They are indeed able to chomp huge mileages with relative ease. Great vehicles.

Well after an evening of being moaned at,then total silence puncuated bu mumbling i have been informedthat i am "not getting another fucking car"

So sorry purple,thats that.

Well it was just an idea anyway.

My insurance want £478 for a rover anyway plus £35 admin so looks like i am staying as i am.

Insurance for Rover 75's came up really cheap for me when I was getting quotes on a 2.0 V6, on the flip side I think insurance companies value even really nice examples at little more than about £2.50

You'll probably be better off with the Volvo anyway.

Sometimes it happens, sometimes it dosesn't.
