Renting a recovery vehicle for the day

How much would this be - if it's even possible?

I am due to collect a car (because I do not have enough at the moment) and there's no way I'm a-framing because it's too scary and I think my car is lacking in any trailer towing ability.

Use my V70
Return it with fuel (and don't break the seat ;) )

Quick google suggests anything from £80+ , this not including a deposit from some places.
Not easier to Shiply it ?

It's in Bolton (third car in a row I've bought from Bolton!)

I have a tow bar, but I daren't trailer it with the Astra as it's not that powerful (the actuator spring/lack of vacuum is making it permanently open so it's losing boost as soon as it starts spinning).

Bolton is obviously the land of dream chod!!

Dave, is it driveable?

What - and where - is it? As a resident of Bolton - and the best thing about the place is the A666 "Devil's Highway" either north or south (ie the main road out ;) ) -  I see stuff like Carina IIs and Fiesta Mk IIIs plus other chod in good nick on a regular basis...

On reflection, perhaps I do live in a land of milk and honey (and chod) !! Insurance is an (expletive deleted) nightmare, though :( .

It's right next to the A666 funnily enough!

Car was owned by his dad for 20 years, had it serviced every year and has been in a nice warm garage for 8 years and has absolutely no rust. His dad passed away recently and his mum wants it shifted for obvious reasons. Its cheap even though it really wasn't but missed out on one three years ago and have been looking for one since.

We hired a (incredibly uncomfortable for passengers) beavertail for £90 with a 250 mile (11p per mile thereafter) 24 hour limit to transport the Princess recently.  There was a £150 refundable deposit which was for in case we trashed the truck but again, no problems getting that back when we returned the truck.

If it wasn't the company Mouseflakes used, then it was a carbon copy of it.

Does it have to be on an A Frame behind a Citroen BX to be an autoshite collection?

Depending on when it needs moved (and at the moment the size/weight) I may be able to get it on the transporter behind Disco...

That is always good to know.
I'm awaiting a reply from Mr Scruff (to see if his Wagon has been repaired), if not then i shall forward the details on, Regarding a possible collection.

Thanks

This covers a multitude of sins (over about 8 miles, road-wise if not car-wise) ;) , can you tell us any more? :)

I'm on the northern edge of the place, about a mile before the countryside starts en route to Darwen & Blackburn - but am intimately aquainted with the "inner-city" aspects of Bolton as well (love the place, really - especially the chod but the people in the central areas are interesting [honestly, I'll talk to any of them!] as well!) :) .
