Help for Heroes MGF

The time has now come for the HFH MGF to move on......

Bit of a dilemma though. The MOT is due. Do I re test it and sell it on to re coup the cost or just offer it on as is? Have put two new tyres on it. Not sure what to do next! Have spent £270 on it. Any ideas?

Great car, uses no water and has had recent timing belt fitted. Any onwards movement will need a donation to HFH obviously.

Oh I like the sound of this!

And.........?

Where are you?

Lytham St Annes

Thinking at the moment is to sell it on for £250 as is. Taxed but no MOT. Only known fault is a sticking alternator which causes belt screeching on start up. Purely down to not being driven in the last two months I assume.

Might be useful to lob it in for an MOT and see what transpires. Gotta be worth £300 to £350 with a ticket. Mine was £250 sans ticket.

Any massive issues that would stop it getting a ticket (no floor, tyres made from tinfoil, exhaust routes into glovebox etc) or just you've not noticed anything?

I agree with the ken of purpleness. I'd be way more tempted without the MOT lottery. I know, I'm a boring sod.

No issues. Would be prepared to put it through an MOT if anyone was interested really..... Just don't want to spend the money to give the car away TBH. Tricky one. The whole ethos of the car was to raise money for HFH. Run it, repair it and pass it on etc. Have spent money on tyres and servicing. Done less than 1000 miles in my ownership.

It is a decent car. Runs and drives well, some rust blebs but nothing too bad/ obvious.

A nice car.

So is it £250 your way, and then some money to HFH too? Sounds reasonable, just can't remember what the original plan was!

Lol. £250 my way and I will donate £50 to HFH. Or £200 and you donate £50.

Either way.

That is a bargain whichever way it is sorted. These are great little cars.

Oooooooooh. Is there an original thread anywhere with pics? I'm on my tablet and Tapatalk is shit at searching, might as well just shout out of the window.

Quite so!

Anyone up for the bargain?

Sorry :-/ I'll check with Mr Skizzer to see whether he wants to use my garage space for anything. Looking like the bargain of the century though.

No worries.

Though as 'bargain of the century' it doesn't actually seem to be too desirable.

We Buy Owt have offered £155!

Oh, I think I'm in. However I've provisionally offered Skizzer my lockup for a car he was thinking of getting, and it would be rude to snaffle it back without checking so he has PM.

Looks like MPi flavour if the wheels are original.

Nice colour!

Cream leather eh, and the steering wheel too: gotta be worth around £100+ for the interior trim alone. Mesh windbreak too!

This needs to go for at least £350 to £375 as is in all honesty.

Sorry!  That was Trigger's Acclaim, which Pandamonium has now made a move on much to the relief of my wallet, wife and neighbours.  So the lockup is available - you're a top gent for holding on to it for me and I'm a knobhead for not telling you it was no longer required.  PM replied to, grovellingly.

Haha don't worry, it was only Thursday when we were talking about it! Although I'm two weeks behind on rent so I'd better go and grovel tomorrow..... I didn't want to say what the car was in case there was some big reveal planned.....

I'd have this back in a minute- brilliant car. If no one else wants to take it and donate some cash, then I'd be more than happy to have it back.
