405 Dash lights. Carlo??

Hey folks, this is kind of aimed at Carlo, or any other 405 abusers on here.

My dash lights (speedo etc) were turning on and off at whim for a good while - up until recently.  They're now permanently off.

Anyone know where the wiring would go to ultimately?  Am assuming it's another Peugeot style dodgy connection...

Hopefully not a dash-off scenario!

Just a guess, but could it be the rheostat ?

That'd be my first thought too. On a BX, it's a rotating switch on the underside of the steering column.
