Useful that you can now see the MOT status without needing V5 or certificate details now...although the website seems to be less than reliable at the moment!

does anyone have access to more accurate car info as I was going to look at this car DS08 XYF I still cant understand how it can be taxed such an out of date mot

A Volvo I was interested in showed expired 2014 tax and a 2007 MOT, I guessed it was sorned then registered to a new keeper at the tax expiry date.

If used as a taxi then will not have MOT

Is that right then taxis don't need mot?

Mine isn't MOT'd as such.

Fuck me, looking at D701SWL that went 4 years with no mot but being taxed.

I was wondering if this was the new system for checking shit once they abolish tax discs, looking at the accuracy of it I imagine it's going to ba smooth fucking journey come october. Will print out the payment page on tax day and keep it in the glovebox I think...

They get a taxi test, which is basically an MOT extended to cover things like the meter, safety equipment, state of the interior and bodywork etc.

Do they take a SORN declaration as 'taxed'?

Yes, a SORN used to show up a licence not due on the old system, so presumably SWL was SORNED for 4 years before it eventually lapsed.

And now its happily back on the road as G406Cfd or something...
