Hopefully they’ll see the road this summer!

Are they yours?

I fucking wish! No, it’s wishful thinking that the owner might get them on the road this spring.

Current owner says it is currently in the garage having some pre MoT work done. Definitely alive and well :)

@SierraMikeHotel

Who owns the Alpine now then?

@sierraman

Hopefully the above will cast some light onto things.

I have messaged the chap who owned it when I posted that post. Lovely thing.

My dad had a Alpine as a company car. It was a GLS in Kermit-the-frog green with a black vinyl roof and the 1442cc engine. It had all sorts of then unheard of toys, including electric front windows, headlamp wipers, velour seats and  - gasp - a radio-cassette player. I remember it being generally reliable, except for needing a replacement engine after about 18 months! Bloody noisy though.

They were well equipped for their time.  Later ones had PAS as standard.  The top models even got a trip computer!

Great to hear some positive feedback on them. My father owned his when it was a couple of years old (was last of the Chrysler Alpines) and was very impressed with it. He went on to buy two Horizons after it, he was that impressed with the brand. His second Horizon was an Ultra model, so proper posh at the time.

The Horizon wasn’t a bad car at all, rattling engines aside. The diesel was a bit of forward thinking definitely.
