Steilwand_Kitty.JPG

Katharina "Steilwand Kitty" Mathieu (nee Müller) at the 1936 Munich Oktoberfest.

It's her old wall, that Eveline Wissinger restored in 2004 and tours with extensively.

Riders today are amongst others fellow Englishman Ken Fox and his entourage.

They are still riding three of Kitty's original Indian 101 Scouts.

Her fourth Indian is - together with a section of the original wall - on display in the Munich Stadtmuseum.

Courtesy of me. I owned that Indian for a while and donated it to the Museum,

when I learned they have a section of the wall.

Up until I was in my early 20's that Land Rover wouldn't have seemed out of place to me. I thought Woodstock was the Woodstock in Oxfordshire, I had a very sheltered upbringing.

Other 'ferrin' stuff I can spot (apart from the usual myriad of Hitlermobiles) is a Peugeot 404, an Opel A Kadett and a Jag MKII.

Trying to work out if that little roadster is a Fiat 850, Alfa Spider or just a Corvette far awaypost-17414-0-49705700-1426245877_thumb.jpg

I think it's a Fiat 850 Spider.

Most notable home-grown tin I can spot must be that '68 Charger. I mean, that thing must have been brand new!

Some people just had the right parents, did they not...

Fox St New York City 1966

Hard to believe that the car was merely six years old when the photo was shot.

Talk about throwaway society.

Also note the street obviously being a racial segregation line and the new Chevy being severely pimped.

McQueen at the Bullitt set. Contrary to popular folklore, it was Bud Ekins who did most of the stunt driving, not McQueen.

But Bill Hickman - the Mafia hit man driving the Charger - did his own stunts and drove the Charger himself. By all accounts he was a serious wheelman.

He also drove in The French Connection (and acted), the 7ups, Diamonds Are Forever, Vanishing Point, The Fugitive and The Love Bug.
